Overview

The Automotive Service Director/Manager manages all service related staff to ensure a satisfactory customer experience. This individual is responsible for the hiring, training and development of all service staff. The Automotive Service Director/Manager serves as the liaison between the store and Support Service to ensure that Store Performance Expectation (SPE) objectives and customer satisfaction are obtained.


The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 year of dealer-level or large Automotive Service Management experience, an unrestricted California driver's license and a clean driving record, and a strong technical and customer service performance record.  He or she must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment with the ability to lead their service team with a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, develop and motivate the service department staff and monitor their performance.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and ensure they are met..
  • Develop and monitor budgets for the service department and keep dealership management informed of variances.
  • Ensure that the service department meets all customer satisfaction (CSI) and financial goals.
  • Ensure proper repair techniques are being used.
  • Schedule training as necessary to properly repair and service vehicles.
  • Stay up to date on product changes and new products.
  • Ensure that all necessary shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.

 

Qualifications

  • 2 + years dealer-level or large Automotive Service Management experience.
  • JEEP, CHRYSLER, DODGE experience preferred!
  • Experience managing 15+ employees proffered.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with the confidence in your ability to be successful.
  • Great attitude with high-energy personality.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Bilingual- a plus.
