Overview

The Business Development Manager  will work along side the BDC team and must consistently and profitably meet vehicle sales quotas through expert management and leadership of the Internet-Business Development team and by forecasting sales and maintaining proper inventory levels in terms of amount and vehicle types. In addition, the Business Development Manager hires, trains, and monitors team member performance; resolves customer complaints; and helps with closings when necessary. 

The ideal candidate has some post-secondary education (degree, coursework, certification, etc.), at least two years of experience in a large-volume dealership, and some supervisory or management experience. He or she must have a strong business acumen and sales aptitude and a willingness to accept full accountability for sales targets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong leadership and motivational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Meet monthly sales forecast volume sustaining sufficient gross to meet profit objectives.
  • Meet with the General Sales Manager to forecast monthly sales expenses.
  • Hires, trains, and monitors team member performance.
  • This will be a hands on Management position to work along side the BDC team to meet the departments objective goals.
  • Establishes sales quotas and manages overall BDC goals.
  • Ensures all sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provides timely and accurate reports on all sales activities as needed.
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to optimize customer choice.
  • Build rapport with on-site professionals assisting with their Business Development needs.
  • Follow up on daily CRM objectives with the current sales staff.
  • Ensure Business Development team members are informed of all new inventory and current advertising efforts, including rebates and incentives.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction during the entire purchase experience.
  • Partner with the Financial Services Department to develop and coordinate best practices for the most efficient and effective sales approach.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with the customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Others duties may be assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have 2 + years of Business Development Management.
  • Business Development Management experience with verifiable proof of meeting sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outgoing personality and willing to work with the public on a daily basis.
  • Proficient at operation a personal computer including Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.
  • Tekion experience a PLUS!
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Strong take charge leadership attitude with a record of team building to include requiting, training and motivating.

  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a process driven environment.
  • Bilingual a PLUS!
